Frozen Peach Margaritas

These easy homemade Frozen Peach Margaritas are the perfect summer drink!

Thick, frosty, and balanced between sweet and tart, these frozen margaritas take just minutes to make (or make them in advance and freeze them!).

Plus it’s just as easy to make enough for 4 drinks as it is for 1. Either way, you win!

And I’ll have show you a healthier option that tastes just as good but with less sugar.

Why this recipe works

When you use good ingredients, it’s hard to have a bad margarita.

But when it’s hot out (or it’s the middle of winter and you want to pretend it’s hot out), a frozen margarita really hits the spot.

And while there’s so many different fruits you can use (like mango), peaches have their own sweet, slightly floral quality that just screams summer.

Plus, I make this recipe easy by using frozen peach slices. No slicing and pitting here. Using frozen is more convenient and often cheaper.

I recommend using 100% agave silver tequila. If it’s not 100% agave, it can have other weird ingredients that affect the taste and can lead to headaches later.

And while I enjoy these margaritas with orange liqueur, I know those are often liquid sugar bombs (again: headaches). So I offer two other option: fresh orange juice (still sugar, but a smaller amount from a natural source) or just water (using juice or water would also make this a Paleo margarita).

No matter which way you choose, these homemade frozen margaritas are fantastic.

What you need to make Frozen Peach Margaritas

Ingredients:

  • frozen peaches
  • 100% agave silver tequila
  • orange liqueur, orange juice or water
  • limes
  • fine sea salt, kosher salt or flaky sea salt for the rim, if desired
  • cayenne pepper to add to the salt rim, if desired

Equipment:

  • a blender
  • measuring spoons (these are my favorite because they actually fit into spice jars!)
  • a measuring glass
  • a measuring cup
  • a bowl for the salt, if using
  • glasses for serving

How to make Frozen Peach Margaritas

It’s pretty simple: just measure out your ingredients, blend, pour and sip!

If you want the salt rim, add the salt (and a pinch of cayenne, if you like a bit of heat) to a bowl. Slide either a slice of lime or wet fingertips around the rim of the glass. Turn the glass upside down and dip into the salt, rotating the glass if necessary to make sure the rim is evenly coated.

Then pour in the margarita. Trust me, you don’t want to pour the drink in first and then try to salt the rim! Things get…messy.

Make ahead

Yep, you can make these in advance! Just add the blended mixture to a freezer-safe container or baggie. The alcohol prevents the mixture from freezing completely solid.

When you’re ready to serve, it might need another quick blitz in the blender but it might be fine and pourable just straight from the freezer.

You can freeze these for up to 1 month. After that, they might start to lose flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups (18-19 oz.) frozen peach slices
  • ¾ cup (6 fl. oz.) 100% agave silver tequila
  • ¾ cup (6 fl. oz.) orange liqueur, orange juice or water
  • ¼ cup (2 fl. oz.) lime juice, plus extra limes, if necessary
  • fine sea salt, kosher salt or flaky sea salt for the rim, if desired
  • a pinch of cayenne pepper for the salt rim, if desired

Instructions

  • In a blender, blitz the peaches, tequila, orange liqueur (or juice or water) and lime juice until smooth. Add more water if necessary.
  • If making the salt rim, add salt to a bowl just large enough to fit the rim of your glass. Add a pinch of cayenne powder for spiciness, if desired. Slide a lime wedge or wet fingertips around the rim, then turn the glass upside down and dip into the salt until the rim is evenly coated.
  • Pour the mixture into the glasses and garnish with lime slices, if desired.

Notes

To make one drink: Blend 1 cup of frozen peach slices, 3 tablespoons 100% agave tequila, 3 tablespoons orange liqueur (or juice or water) and 1 tablespoon of lime juice. Add more water if necessary. Proceed as above for the salted rim, if desired.
