Course: Dessert, Snack
Cuisine: American
Servings: 6 popsicles
Calories: 35kcal
- ⅓ cup plain, unsweetened yogurt see notes
- ⅔ cup frozen mango
- ⅓ cup frozen cherries
- 1 tablespoon honey see notes
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- ⅛ teaspoon fine sea salt
Add the yogurt to the blender. Then add the mango, cherries, honey, lime juice and salt. Blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick to fully blend, try one of the following tricks:1. Stop the blender and scrape down the sides of the blender jar, making sure to move the mixture around the blades.2. Pulse the motor instead of just letting it run. This can help loosen up the mixture.3. Add water, 1-2 tablespoons at a time, blending after each addition to see if it's enough to smooth out the mixture. You don't want to add too much or the popsicles will be too icy. Pour the mixture into the popsicles molds. If necessary, use a spoon or chopstick to stir the mixture in each mold to get rid of any air pockets. You can also gently shake the molds side to side to make sure the mixture creates an even layer at the top.
Freeze for at least 4 hours. To unmold, it might be necessary to run the molds under hot water for 5-10 seconds to loosen them.
Substitutions
For dairy-free, use a dairy-free yogurt in place of the regular yogurt.
For vegan, use a vegan yogurt in place of the regular yogurt and maple syrup or agave nectar in place of the honey.
For Paleo, use a Paleo-friendly yogurt (I like Harmless Harvest) in place of the regular yogurt.
You can also leave the honey out altogether.
I haven't tried this recipe with any other fruits. If you do, please let me know how it goes.
You can use plain or Greek-style unsweetened yogurt. If you try a flavored yogurt, please let me know how it goes.
You can use lemon or orange juice in place of the lime juice.
If you want a bit of heat, you can add a pinch of ground cayenne when blending.
